July 10, 2009 - Coach Horton and the women's basketball program are excited to announce these new additions for the 2009-10 season:

Tianna Woltering graduated with honors from Garfield-Palouse High School. She is a 5’11 athletic perimeter player who is very versatile. Her senior year she averaged 12 pts and 8 rebounds per game, and she was a 4-year varsity player. She helped lead her team to the State Championship in 2008. She was voted All-League both her junior and senior year, and was team captain. Her attitude and work ethic will be a perfect fit, and she will have an immediate impact on the team.

Cami Stoddard is a local grad from Tumwater High School where she played on the varsity team for 3 years. Her senior year she averaged 10 pts, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals per game. She was selected 1st Team All-League and 2nd Team All-Area, as well as being voted team captain by her teammates. Cami also played the last 2 summers with the AAU team, Evergreen Express, where her leadership and her defensive prowess made her a standout. Cami can play positions 1-3 and she is a tremendous addition for both her skills and her attitude.

Alexa Justus is a multi-sport star from Forks High School. She was a 4-year starter on the varsity team, and led them in all categories her senior year. As a 5’7 guard, she averaged 14 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals per game. She was voted 1st Team All-League all 4 years and she was named to the All-State Team both her junior and senior year. Alexa is a very competitive player and leads by example with her great work ethic. She is a very smart player who sees the floor well and can get her teammates involved as well as score herself. We are so excited that Alexa chose South Puget Sound.

Kristen Lantau comes from an excellent high school program, Napavine, where she knows what it takes to win. She was instrumental in her team’s success as a senior averaging 8 pts, 8 rebounds and 4 steals per game. She brings an attitude of toughness, especially on the defensive end. She is an aggressive rebounder and takes pride in being a physical force in the key. Her work ethic and toughness will be great additions to the team.

Madison Justus would have been a freshman with us this past season, and we are so excited that she has decided to join us now, after a year off from basketball. At 5’9 Madison can score both inside and outside, and she is physical in the battle for the boards. She was a real leader for her high school team, graduating from Forks, where she was teammates with her cousin, Alexa. Her senior year she averaged 20 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals per game, and was named 1st Team All-League. She will be a contributor right away.
