Safe zones are designed to provide a safe space or a place of refuge, where members of the campus community can turn when they:
- feel that their safety is immediately threatened, and/or
- have been on the receiving end of bigotry of any kind

What can a mentor do for you? Mentors:
- Help you navigate your way through the college system
- Expose you to a career you are interested in
- Introduce you to other professionals that might help you in your education or career
- Share their secrets to success and their tips on how to rebound from setbacks
A mentor will meet with you on or off campus on a regular basis. We will ask you to attend some workshops with your mentor centered on success strategies or other topics designed to assist you in your educational or career goals.
